Material fatigue testing installation - has test piece mounted in rotary assembly with main shaft coupled for measuring torsion effects

The fatigue tester has coaxial tubes between which jacks act, the inner tube being mounted in bearings. This rotary assembly is mounted in a fixed coaxial outer tube, further jacks acting between the outer tube and a fixed frame. A control system is provided to turn the rotary assembly and regulates operation of the jacks. The main shaft is coupled to a secondary shaft with a rotary jack for measuring torsional fatigue effects.
