A continuous method for the selective hydrogenation of edible oils and fats which comprises contacting a flowing mass of edible oils and fats at a temp. from 150 to 260 deg. C in the presence of a catalytically active metal selected from Gp. VIII of the Periodic Table supported on alpha-alumina and recovering the resultant hydrogenated prod., characterised in that the alpha-alumina support has a surface area less than 10 m2/g and a micropore vol. less than 0.1 ml/g. - (12pp) EPAB- EP-126168 B A continuous method for the selective hydrogenation of edible oils and fats which comprises contacting a flowing mass of edible oils and fats at a temp. from 150 to 260 deg.
