Method of protection of the hull of a boat against deposits due to the presence of marine animal or vegetable substances, during wintering, in which the hull is surrounded as far as the flotation line with the aid of an impermeable and opaque cover 6 secured to the deck of the boat. The seawater situated between the cover and the hull is removed and then a pocket of fresh water 12 is injected between the cover and the hull.
