SYSTEM OF PREPROCESSING FOR SWITCHING-SETTING OF BENES PERMUTATION NETWORK

PURPOSE:To speed up the changeover-setting of a network by making an equivalent group used for the changeover-setting of the Benes permutation network able to output by N pieces of clock. CONSTITUTION:The sending out of write information to memories 21 and 24 is stopped, an exclusive OR circuit 23 is made in a pass mode for the output (i) from an N-ary counter 20 counting a clock PHI, and a 2-to-1 data selector 25 is made in a pass mode for a desired rewrite column Di, during which process, too the N-ary counter 20 continues generating the (i) by the clock PHI. Consequently, the Di and the (i) are supplied respectively as an address and a data to a memory 26 that has a capacity of N words where one word is constituted by N-bits of log2. In the memory 26, a permutation column E(Di)=i is stored. And at the same time the Di and R(i(0))=Di(0) are supplied respectively as an address and a data to a memory 27. The equivalent group W(Di)=(Di(0))(0) is stored in the memory 27, thus the contents of the memories 26 and 27 are used for the processing by a group sorting circuit.
