When the exclusively dairy food for battery veal for slaughter is supplemented with a milk-replacer supplement feed, consisting of germinated cereal grains kept in a moist state, seeded with lactic bacteria selected for their production of lactic acid and their preserving effect, superior technical and economic performance levels, fattening safety and a normally white meat are obtained. The grains mentioned as milk-replacer supplement feed are described.
