PURPOSE:To obtain a miniaturized and light bubble recording medium by providing a magnetic layer which forms a bubble transfer path on a substrate by forming a prescribed pattern on the substrate, performing recording, reproduction, and erasure by irradiating a laser beam with non-contact, and furthermore, providing a transfer magnetic field generating coil at a recording and reproducing device side. CONSTITUTION:The substrate 10 is constituted of a mineral material such as metal, a semiconductor, a dielectric, etc., or an organic material such as plastic, etc., and a magnetic bubble transfer path 13 along a longitudinal direction is pierced in the center part of the substrate. Next, a film 11 capable of forming a magnetic bubble selected from the alloy of ferrite, garnet, a rare earth element and transition metal, and a magnetic film 12 for impressing a bias magnetic field generated by the similar metal are laminated on the entire plane including the transfer path by sputtering, and the laminated body is formed by disconnecting between the surface of the transfer path 13 and that of the substrate 10. Thus, the transfer path 13 is provided in the hole of the substrate 10, and the bubble for the recording, the reproduction, and the erasure can be generated on the transfer path 13 by forming a non-contact state with an optical beam emission device.
