An arrangement for cold nuclear fusion using a cathode (3) and an anode (49, in between which a light atomic nuclei containing substance is introduced and an electrical voltage is applied (I), whereby the cathode (3) includes a grid coated with palldium (3b) metal, the grid being cubical-surface centered or of a hexagonal configuration. Nickel, or magnesium can be used as metal (3a) with cubical-surface centered grid, whilst as metal (3a) with hexagonal grid, Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb or Ta can be used. The cathode (3) has a rectangular, round or star-shaped cross-section. The coating thickness of the palladium is in excess of 0.5 micro m. The cathode is provided with at least one centrally arranged cooling channel (12). USE/ADVANTAGE - The arrangement can be employed to produce cold nuclear fusion. Large size plant can be produced very cost effectively.
