PROCESS FOR ALTERING ANIMAL, ESPECIALLY SWINE AND POULTRY, EXCRETES TO HIGH QUALITY MANURE

A novel method for treating animal manure, in particular pig and poultry manure, to give a high-grade fertiliser is presented, according to which the animal manure is moderately stirred at a temperature of up to 50 DEG C with an organic component based on humic acids and/or cellulose which has preferably been predried to a moisture content of up to 25 % and ground to give a fraction of up to 4 mm, and to which reagents rich in macro- and microelements, CaO and highly absorptive clays have optionally been added. The product is granulated and dried at not more than 60 DEG C. The novel method solves an urgent ecological, economical and health-related animal manure problem and provides a fertiliser which favourably influences the fertility of the soil and the harvest, and additionally does not contaminate the ground- and surface water as it is environmentally friendly and does not provide a depot for pathogenic bacteria and insects.
