To verify the possibility of applicability of the proposed Supercritical Water Gacification (SCWG)rnprocess, where fine activated carbon catalyst is suspended in the feedstock to the swine manure and the cattle manure,rnand compare the result with layer poultry manure, SCWG has been conducted for these manures, using a pilot scalerncontinuous supercritical water gasification plant (treating scale: 1 t-wet/d). In the gasification of layer poultry manure,rncomplete gasification was achieved. On the other hand, complete gasification was not achieved in the gasification ofrnthe swine manure and the cattle manure. These results indicate that some of carbon in swine manure and cattlernmanure remained in the pilot plant without being gasified as solid, and these carbon is considered to be sawdustrnwhich is included in these manures. The possible reasons for the low gasification efficiency are: 1. Lignin in thernsawdust does not gasify easily in supercritical water. 2. Large size sawdust cannot be fed to gasification reactor.
