A method of investigating and evaluating bore cores involving measuring at least one elastic property of the rock and at least the axial resistance to a point load on the core and/or the open bore as a fracture-mechanical parameter. A measurement interval in the cm-dm range is used. The measurement values are represented on adjacent graphs against bore depth using a corresp. scale and compared with parameters of validated strata. USE/ADVANTAGE - Investigating and evaluating rock strata to indicate dangerous conditions positively, e.g. of rock bursts, esp. in stone coal mines.
