Electronic multiplier circuit for use with simple control - uses extended shift registers and limited multiplier and multiplicand places to keep number of adder circuits small
Electronic multiplier circuit for use with simple control - uses extended shift registers and limited multiplier and multiplicand places to keep number of adder circuits small
An electronic multiplier circuit consists of a number of adder circuits (1). The number of adder circuits required is held small by extending shift registers (3) in the appropriate direction, limiting the number of multiplicand places and limiting the number of multiplier places to fewer than 8. The multiplier circuit processes numbers in 5211 code and produces results which are also in 5211 code. A basic adder circuit contains fewer than 11 AND circuits and 11 OR circuits, each with 2 inputs. ADVANTAGE - Can be operated by an as yet not designed simple control mechanism.
