A Novel Multi-Mode Buck Control Circuit with Integrated Multiplier for Electronic HID Ballasts

This paper presents a multi-mode buck control circuit with optimized functionality to drive an HID lamprnwith the required performance. The circuit allows the use of the buck in continuous- or critical- conductionrnmode to realize a current or power control for HID lamps with a minimum number of external components.
