TRANSLATED WORD SELECTING METHOD FOR TRANSLATING PLURAL SENTENCES AND MACHINE TRANSLATION SYSTEM USING THE METHOD

PURPOSE:To select a suitable translated word by extracting information for selecting the translated word from an entire text. CONSTITUTION:A step is provided to extract the information for selecting the translated word from the entire text when translating the text composed of plural sentences, and a stop is provided to select the translated sentence by using the extracted information for selecting the translated word. For example, a processor 8 extracts a text data from a source sentence file 3, inputs it in the machine translation system and designates a range for handling the inputted text as one group of the text. Next, the desired sentence to be translated is instructed, and the information for selecting the translated word is extracted from the entire unit of translation. Thus, by extracting the information for selecting the translated word from the entire text, the suitable translated word can be selected.
