PURPOSE: To reduce a memory space storing a symbol series appearance probability (Qe) table data by obtaining a difference between a standard MPS data and a prescribed value and between a standard LPS data and a prescribed value. ;CONSTITUTION: A standard MPS data and a standard LPS data and a current address data of any of 0-120 are fed to a difference data generating section 10. The difference data generating section 10 obtain a difference from the standard MPS data and the standard LPS data with respect to a supply address and outputs an MPS difference data to an MPS data generating means 20 and outputs an LPS difference data and an MPS code data to an LPS data generating means 30. The means 20, 30 and an LPS data compression means 40 based on the code of the MPS code data vary the data length of the MPS data and the LPS data to replace the obtained MPS data and the LPS data into the standard MPS data and the standard LPS data and outputs new MPS and LPS data.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
