The storage vessel is intended as a hydraulic accumulator for accommodating a liquid coolant column and a motive gas volume pressurising the liquid coolant column, and has an access opening (1) and an outlet (6) for the liquid coolant to be removed from storage partly or entirely in the case of an emergency. An elastically deformable diaphragm (4) mounted inside the storage vessel separates a chamber (8) for the liquid coolant from a chamber (9) for the motive gas in a gas-tight and liquid-tight fashion. The diaphragm (4) can be stretched until the liquid coolant is completely discharged, and constructed for this purpose as a bellows (18). It is clamped with its edge on the vessel wall and with the folds of its bellows (18) spaced from this wall; furthermore, the diaphragm (4) is closed at the lower end of its bellows (18) by a hemispherical diaphragm dome (20) whose shape allows installation through the access opening (1), or subsequent installation in existing storage vessels.
