Hoisting of boats is made faster and performable by a single operator by utilizing an hoisting apparatus which can be used with any lifting means available and which comprises a balance (1) having at least a longitudinal beam (2) and tow tubolar crossbeams (3, 4), out of the extremities of which extend, respectively, horizontal arms (3b, 3c, 4b, 4c) telescopically extensible and retractable driven by remotely controlled hydraulic cylinders (9b, 9c, 10b, 10c). A vertical leg (12-15) is rigidly fixed at the free extremity of each horizontally extensible arm (3b-4c) and the leg is provided with a cantilevered foot (18) carrying a support plate keel (19) of the boat to be hoisted. The hanging of the balance (1) on the crane's hook is implemented by means of a suspension carriage (7) running along the central longitudinal beam (2) of the balance (1), the longitudinal position of which may be remotely controlled by the operator by means of an hydraulic cylinder (11). A mechanism (21-27) for rotating the suspended load in respect to the crane is also disclosed.
