The process used in road technology, comprising the depositing of a layer of binder, the possible interposition of a base course and finally the depositing of a road carpet in the form of a carpet of coated products or of a surface coating, is characterised, according to the invention, in that a continuous fibre or an assembly of continuous fibres forming the reinforcement is projected as a sheet onto the layer of binder. The invention also relates to a device for implementing the process, comprising a movable frame (1) on which means (2) for storing the fibres, means (4) for guiding the fibres and means (5) for ejecting the fibres in the direction of the ground are fastened.
