SERUM HEPATIC LEAKING ENZYME ACTIVITY DEPRESSANT AND HEPATOPATHY REMEDY COMPOSITION

A hepatic leaking enzyme activity depressant containing an effective dose of a calcitonin gene related peptide or an acid addition salt thereof for lowering the enhanced activities of hepatic leaking enzymes, i.e., serum glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase and glutamic-pyruvic transaminase; and a novel hepatopathy remedy composition containing an active ingredient comprising the above peptide or salt thereof and having extremely reduced side effects. Since the depressant effectively lowers the enhanced enzymatic activities serving as an index of the extent of hepatopathy, the remedy composition can be utilized for treating various types of hepatopathy, such as drug-induced hepatitis, alcoholic hepatitis and autoimmune hepatitis.
