摘要
The process involves using a programmable control microprocessor (1) which receives (5) data on the applicable electricity tariff. Typically, a low rate applies between certain stated hours, and one or more higher rates at other specified times of day. Weekly or seasonal variations are also possible. Using temperature sensors (41,42,43) in zones of the building (31,32,33) heated by e.g. convector heaters (21,22,231,232), the controller (1) records the ambient temperatures, during the low-rate period, achieved in each zone by the associated heaters operating on their own thermostat settings. In the following period, when a higher tariff rate applies, the controller imposes a predetermined differential reduction of e.g. 1,2 or 3 degrees. The consumer retains the ability to prevent such reductions or to select any other desired differential. ADVANTAGE - Reduces energy consumed at higher tariff rates.
