PURPOSE:To reduce cost by performing hydrophilic treatment due to glow discharge by increasing the vacuum degree of a liquid nitrogen solidifying vacuum container in such a state that a liquid nitrogen container is removed, by providing a high voltage applying means to the lid part of the liquid nitrogen solidifying vacuum container. CONSTITUTION:A mesh stand 18 having an EM mesh 17 mounted thereon is placed in a vacuum container 8 and an anode 16 is set to hermetically close the vacuum container 8 by an insulating plate 15. The vacuum container 8 is evacuated by a rotary pump 13 by operating a rough suction valve 12 and a leak valve 14 to be brought to a high vacuum degree. Thereafter, the vacuum degree is adjusted to 0.1-0.5Torr by a needle valve 19 and high voltage is applied to the anode 16 from a high voltage power source 20. Whereupon, the vacuum container 8 becomes an ion atmosphere and the EM mesh 17 receives ion irradiation to be sufficiently made hydrophilic. Next, a liquid nitrogen container 7 is inserted in the vacuum container 8. Then, a lid is mounted on the vacuum container 8 to evacuate the vacuum container 8 by the rotary pump 13 by operating the rough suction valve 12 and the leak valve 14. Liquid nitrogen is solidified by this exhaustion and the aqueous solution applied to the EM mesh is instantaneously frozen to be formed into an amorphous ice film.
