METHOD FOR DISCRIMINATION OF SEX IN MURINE AND BOVINE EMBRYO UTILIIZNG GENE HAVING SEXUAL DIFFERENCE IN EXPRESSION

PURPOSE: To obtain a method for discriminating the sex of a murine or a bovine embryo or tissue utilizing a gene having a difference in expression between the female and the male and a primer or a probe therefor. ;CONSTITUTION: The method for discriminating the sex utilizes a cDNA of a murine and a bovine Mea genes as a gene having a difference in expression between the female and the male, a genome DNA of the bovine Mea gene, an RNA and a polypeptide designated therewith and a part of the nucleic acids as a primer according to the RT-PCR method (polymerase chain reaction utilizing a reverse transcriptase). The probe for discriminating the sex by the hybridization method utilizing all or a part of the nucleic acids is obtained.
