The process uses a combined precision blanking and extrusion steps. The tooth widths are smaller, larger, or the same as the thickness of the original material.In a first step, the central sections are offset w.r.t. the connecting sections, by approx. the width of the tooth, forming external and internal cylindrical faces. For the pinion, the connection between the parts is via a connecting section with conical circular profile. For the toothed rim, gear, a connecting section with a thickness of 20 -50% of the initial material thickness is used. In a second stage, teeth are pressed into the cylindrical faces, opposite to the first direction of working. USE/ADVANTAGE - For epicyclic gear drives,with low-cost mfr.and improved tooth contours.
