The invention relates to a downpipe for feeding caking coal into fluidised-bed of a gasifier. The downpipe is passed at an acute angle to the vertical through the wall of the gasifier into the reaction space. The object of the invention is to further develop a downpipe of the said type in such a way that caking of the fed coal is avoided at the mouth of the downpipe. To achieve the object, a funnel (7) is provided at the inlet end (6) of the downpipe (1). A lance (13) ends in the area of the narrowest point (11) of the funnel (7). Flush gas (15) can be directed into the downpipe (1) via the lance (13). The downpipe (1) is concentrically surrounded by a casing pipe (18), as a result of which an annular space (21) open towards the reaction space (4) of the gasifier is formed between the two pipes (1 and 18). A flushing medium (23) can be directed into the annular gap (21). The flushing medium (23) enters the reaction space (4) from the annular gap (25) formed at the inner end (19) of the casing pipe (18). IMAGE
