Cooling particle-loaded crude gas from the fluidised-bed gasification of solid fuel, e.g. brown coal for power generation, involves adding steam and/or carbon dioxide to the hot gas leaving the gasifier
A method for cooling particle-loaded crude gas from the fluidised-bed gasification of solid fuel under pressure, involves adding steam and/or carbon dioxide to the hot gas leaving the gasifier, so that the gaseous reaction mixture is cooled to the final temperature (T) of the kinetic reaction or below by endothermic reaction with the superheated carbonaceous particles and the crude gas no longer causes high-temperature contamination, incrustation or corrosion.
