PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heavy high speed injection flow, and concurrently make cold water prevent an engine from being damaged due to fusion by providing high thrust by using main propellant provided for a rocket engine and thermit reactive material together in a device propelling an underwater running body by the rocket engine. ;SOLUTION: In an underwater running body, thermit reactive material composed of iron oxides, aluminum powder and the like, is filled in the inside of a case 2 having a nozzle part 4 connected with a pay load 1. Main propellant 6 composed of explosives in a slurry system and the like is disposed coaxially with the case 2 within the reactive material 5, and an exploder 7 is provided for the end part of the thermit reactive material 5 faced to the nozzle part 4. The thermit reactive material 5 is ignited by the exploder 7, and when the main propellant 6 is ignited so as to allow gas to be injected afterward at the high speed, heavy constituents (fine particles) which are generated by high speed gas in the thermit reactive material 5 are mixed therewith so as to be injected as a heavy high speed injection flow, so that high propulsion power can thereby be provided.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
