REAR SOIL RECLAMATION CONSTRUCTION OF EARTH RETAINING WALL FOR QUAYWALL OR REVETMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress effectively independent oscillation of a lightweight ground material or uplift thereof attributed to oscillation when an earthquake occurs and to suppress the increase of earth pressure to an earth retaining wall when the earthquake occurs. ;SOLUTION: Rear soil 2 of an earth retaining wall 1 for a quaywall or a revetment is constituted of a front reclamation material 2a with low density on the earth retaining wall 1 side and a rear reclamation material 2b with high density on an opposite side to the earth retaining wall 1. A boundary surface 2c between both reclamation materials 2a and 2b is the same as a collapse surface 5 or is a gentle slope, and a sheet-like embedded coupling material 3 of geotextile embeds its front in the front reclamation material 2a or its rear in the rear reclamation material 2b respectively on an approximately horizontal surface inside the rear soil 2 or on a plurality of approximately horizontal surfaces at specific intervals in the vertical direction over the whole extensional direction of the earth retaining wall 1.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
