PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form and rotate a three-dimensional distortion-free image without using an expensive computer capable of high-speed calculation. ;SOLUTION: This microscope is equipped with a light source 2, a two-dimensional scan unit 10 which makes a two-dimensional scan on a sample 4 with the light from the light source 2, an objective 20 arranged between the scan unit 10 and sample 4, an objective driving part 21 which moves the objective 20 and sample 4 relatively along the optical axis of the objective 20, a pinhole 31 which is provided at a position conjugate to the focal plane of the objective 20, and a fluorescent light detector 40 for detecting light from the sample 4 which has been passed through the pinhole 31. In this case, the scan by the two-dimensional scan unit 10 and the movement by the objective lens driving part 21 along the optical axis are performed at the same time and a control part 50 is provided which controls the moving speed and moving direction of the objective lens driving part 21 as to the scanning speed of the two-dimensional scan unit 10, thereby obtaining a segmental image of the sample 4 perpendicular to an axis slanting to the optical axis.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
