PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent disturbance of torque transmission at the time of transferring from one speed change ratio to another speed change ratio by simultaneously actuating first and second friction clutches of opposite phases by constantly being engaged with respective gear wheels firmly installed on a single common motion output shaft. ;SOLUTION: A motion input shaft 1 drives a first shaft 5a, b of two friction clutches 8a, b by direct gear transmission, a second shaft 14a, b is a drive shaft of a gear unit, each of them supports at least a pair of gear wheels having a related front surface clutch coupling and installed free to loosely move, and each pair of the gear wheels of both of the drive shafts 5a, b, 14a, b is devised to be constantly engaged with their respective gear wheels installed firmly on the single common motion output shaft, and consequently, torque transmission is not disturbed, and a speed change gear unit including more than four speed change ratios simply using two oil bath clutches 8a, b is provided.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
