PURPOSE:To enable the quantitative feed of a raw material and strict regulation of a moisture content by a method wherein a prewet water spray pipe is mounted to the upper part of a tub body, and water is fed with the aid of a pump controlled according to a raw material amount. CONSTITUTION:A speed variable belt conveyor 21 is mounted to a raw material hopper 20, a raw material is quantitatively conveyed and transferred to a screw conveyor 10. The screw conveyor 10 is disposed in a tub body 11 in an U-shape in cross section provided at the one end with a raw material charge port 14 and at the other end with a discharge port 15. A prewet water spray pipe 19 is arranged on an upper surface 11a of the tub body 11, and water is fed from a water tank 30 with the aid of a pump 31. Based on a number of revolutions signal from the belt conveyor 21, running of the pump 31 is controlled and an amount of feed water is strictly regulated.
