PURPOSE:To insert and stay the leading end of a catheter rapidly, safely and certainly and to efficiently inject a liquid drug in an objective region by transmitting a stimulating current to said region in such a state by mounting a balloon having a shape covering and enveloping a tip electrode at the time of expansion. CONSTITUTION:For example, a pacing catheter is constituted of a catheter part 1, a balloon 3 and a tip electrode 2. At request, liquid drug injecting side holes 6 are provided to the electrode 4 of a leading end vicinal part and the side surface of a leading end part. The catheter part 1 is formed pref. using an anti-thrombogenic material and the balloon 3 is pref. formed using an elastic material excellent in pressure sensitivity/receptivity and anti-thrombogenic properties. The leading end part 3a of the balloon is folded hack to be mounted on the catheter part 1 and the mounting of the other end part 3b thereof is not limited. The balloon 3 is expanded by feeding air from an air feed tube 7 and envelops the tip electrode 2 to form an expanded shape 3'. The electrodes 2, 4 and the outside of the catheter are connected by the lead wires passing through electrode lumens 8, 9.
