The invention relates a MmNiAl-V-based hydrogen storage alloy having CaCu5 structure(hexagonal structure), a hydrogen storage capacity of 5.8-6.0[H/M , low sloping and hysteresis, and appropriate hydrogen absorption-desorption pressure under room temperature and room pressure. The rational formula of the alloy is expressed by MmNiwAlxFy-Vz, wherein Mm represents a misch metal, W is between 4.5 and 4.8, x is between 0.2 and 0.3, y is between 0.01 and 0.3, z is between 0.01 and 0.05, and the sum of w, x,y and z is between 4.8 and 5.4.
