PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a feeling of uneasiness that a gas appliance user has by converting the residual amount of usable gas into a residual usable gas time and displaying the residual usable gas time. ;SOLUTION: The gas supply control system 1 is constituted including a gas meter inspection unit 2 and a gas supply control unit 3 having a residual usable time calculating function for calculating the residual usable gas time from the residual usable gas and a residual usable time display function for displaying the found residual usable gas time. This system finds gas consumption per unit time in advance. The residual usable gas amount written to a prepaid card is read out and converted into a residual usable gas time according to the found gas consumption per unit time and the read residual usable gas amount, so that the converted residual usable gas amount is displayed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
