PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide constitution capable of recognizing the notation of drum music noted by various kinds of notation and converting it into a data type playable with a fewer operations. ;SOLUTION: This music reading method is executed by a symbol recognition stage for recognizing all the symbols of the music including notes, a notation estimation stage for estimating the drum notation in the drum part of the music in accordance with the information obtd. by this stage, a music allocation stage for allocating actual sound producing musical instruments to the symbols of the recognized drum part in accordance with the drum notation estimated in the stage and a data conversion stage for converting the notation into the playable and/or displayable music data type.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
