PURPOSE: To provide a gravity filter capable of filtering a liq. at a high rate and with the long fiber bundle capable of being cleaned in a short time as the filter medium. ;CONSTITUTION: This filter is provided with a filter tank 2a with the upper part opened, a filter body furnished with a filter medium 2b consisting of a long fiber bundle with the upper end as the free end in a frame 3 detachably arranged in the tank 2a and having a cavity at the bottom, a cleaning air pipe communicating with the cavity at the bottom of the tank 2a, an inlet for a liq. to be treated provided at the upper part of the tank, a pipe 7 for discharging the filtrate outside the tank communicating with the cavity and a trough 9 for discharging the liq. in the tank outside the tank without passing the liq. in the tank through the filter medium and keeping the liq. level constant. The liq. supplied to the tank from the inlet is passed through the filter body by gravity and filtered, and the filtrate is discharged through the pipe 7.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
