PURPOSE: To contribute to the beautification of environment and purification of water by arranging blocks for purified water for vegetation composed of ceramic particle-like objects and multiporous objects on an outer surface of a civil engineering structure and planting seeds and trees on its surface or in clearances. CONSTITUTION: Ceramic particle-like objects in which ceramic material becomes aggregate which are like particles and multiporous objects which liquid and gas can pass through and have water holding property are burned to provide blocks 2, 2' for purified water for vegetation. It is preferable that substance like charcoal having ion exchange function are mixed with the multiporous objects. Moreover, support bodies are fixed on the blocks 2, 2' for purified water for vegetation to reinforce them so that a foundation bed material 1 for purified water for vegetation is obtained. After the blocks 2, 2' for purified water for vegetation or the foundation bed material 1 for purified water for vegetation is arranged at the construction place of a civil engineering structure, seeds or plants are planted on a surface of the blocks 2, 2' for purified water for vegetation or in clearances 3, 3 in which plants can grow.
