The present invention relates to a vegetation-based composition for water purification, a structure for water purification including a vegetation-based layer formed thereby and a construction method thereof. The vegetation-based composition for water purification includes solutions, powder, molasses, and underwater plant seeds. According to the present invention, the water purification structure comprising the vegetation-based layer formed by the composition is used in general rivers or water paths along which rainwater flows, lowers the pH of the water, and provides the effect of purifying water due to the ability to adsorb and remove heavy metal ions. The composition of the present invention includes underwater plant seeds and molasses. Germination and growth of aquatic plant seeds can derive underwater greening and purification functions. Molasses can supply nutrients to promote the growth of the aquatic plant seeds.
