The spectral resolution enhancement device has a first light stop (10) with a number of light slits (11a,..11n) with a width (b1) providing a slit image at the receiver array of the order of a pixel width and a second relatively sliding light stop (12) with a single light slit (12a), controlled by a setting and signal processing device, for aligning it with one of the light slits of the first light stop.
