EXTRACTS OF PILIOSTIGMA THONNINGII, THE USE THEREOF AND FORMULATIONS CONTAINING THEM

The present invention relates to a novel extract of filiostigma toninji, which has antiviral activity, a method for producing the same, a use as a therapeutic agent, and a composition comprising the extract. These new extracts have been used in the treatment of diseases such as herpes, influenza, and bronchial lung diseases, where the virus is a cause of illness, and have also been found to be active against the HIV virus.
