PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent weeds from propagating on a green belt to provide a good growing condition for trees, to allow the surface of the green belt to reflect the light to improve visibility, and to reduce the construction cost. ;SOLUTION: This surface-treating method for preventing weeds from propagating on the green belt of a road comprises a paving step for paving the surface of the ground with a hardening material 3 comprising shell granules obtained by pulverizing shells and a cement so as to have a prescribed thickness, a water sprinkling step for water sprinkling on the surface pf the paved hardening material 3, and a hardening step for hardening the cement with the sprinkled water to cover the surface of the green belt with a water-permeable weed- preventing pavement 4.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
