PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a protein which uses cystine and so on as a substrate, is activated by amino acid transportation activator rBAT, and is useful for in vitro analyzing absorption from the intestine epithelia and renal tubule epithelia, preparing a gene treatment vector, and so on. ;SOLUTION: This protein is an amino acid transporter which uses cystine, basic amino acid and neutral amino acid as a substrate, and is activated by amino acid transport activator rBAT. This protein is a recombinant protein, is derived from human or rat, and has the amino acid sequence shown by formula I, or an amino acid sequence modified by deleting, substituting or adding one or more amino acid(s) from, in or to the amino acid sequence shown by formula I. Each of the genes coding for these proteins has a base sequence shown by formula II and so on. It is preferable to determine the in vivo behavior of a subject substance against the ability of transporting cystine, basic amino acid, etc., using these proteins.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
