Water engineering technological undertakings involving automation systems for actuating switches and controls require specially developed circuits and programs for connection of the special automation systems in conjunction with commercial stored program control with peripheral devices which output their digital data at digital outputs, to a common data transmission path and remote data transmission via a BUS-coupler and interface. A communications processor initialized by a first functional module is assigned to the BUS-coupler and cyclically receives a preset number of bytes read from a transmission data module of a stored program control, through a ASCII-driver. The bytes are then written successively in the reception module of the SPS. (Stored Program System).
