Safety device for heating or reheating modules using electromagnetic induction, on a conveyor line, of the edges of a flat metallurgical product, characterised in that each of the said modules (10-12) is mounted movably on a rolling track (18, 18') perpendicular to the direction of conveying of the product (20) and in that it comprises an on-board counterweight (24) whose potential energy can at any instant be immediately employed to actuate a means (34, 36) ensuring a rapid movement of the said module on its rolling track, thus releasing it from the product.
