PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring a pile depth, a method for managing a storage amount of ores in a shaft and a system therefor by which the pile depth is measured safely and correctly without effects of an environmental condition and a meteorological condition of a working site, and a storage level of ores in the shaft is managed highly accurately.;SOLUTION: In the management system 10 for the storage amount of ores, microwaves having a directivity enhanced by parabola antennas 11A and 11B are emitted to bottoms of shafts A and B, and the reflected waves are received via the antennas 11A and 11B by microwave transceivers 12A and 12B. The storage level of a limestone (a) in the shafts A and B is managed highly accurately on the basis of obtained data on the pile depth. The depth can be correctly measured even for the deep shafts A and B without effects of the dust, fog and rain by using the microwaves and with the directivity enhanced by using the antennas 11A and 11B. At the same time, the measurement at a remote place is enabled, thereby preventing measuring people from falling into the pile during the measurement.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
