PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coordinate input/detection device reducing trailing in a reproduced picture.;SOLUTION: The natural and different movements (a 'brush' part and a 'stop' part are made to be common in a point which is sharply detached from a coordinate input/detection area but a time interval between a zero cross point where the inclination of a change per unit time in a dip position corresponding to plotting becomes zero and a position where a dip is extinguished becomes longer than the stop part in the 'brush-up' part) of an indicating means in the 'brush-up' part and 'stop' part of plotting is noticed. The time interval between the zero cross point detected in a step 82 and the position where the dip is extinguished is compared with a prescribed threshold which is previously set (step S4). It is identified whether plotting by the indicating means is 'brush-up' or 'stop'. Thus, an input state can more appropriately be recognized and a reproduced picture processing for reducing trailing with respect to the 'stop' part is realized.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
