PURPOSE: Provided are a process for producing spherical graphite material from scaly graphite and a process for producing an anode active material of a lithium secondary battery by using the spherical graphite material. CONSTITUTION: The process for producing the spherical graphite material comprises the steps of: rotating repeatedly the scaly graphite, having an interlayer distance d(002) of less than 3.360 angstrom, at 1500-3000rpm for 1-40 minutes to make spherical powder; stirring the obtained graphite powder at 100-800rpm for 10-100 minutes to remove rough parts from the surface. And the process for producing the anode active material comprises the steps of: mixing the produced graphite material with amorphous carbon material; stirring the mixture at 300-800rpm for 10-100 minutes to coat the graphite material with the carbon material uniformly; performing a first carbonization at 500-1400deg.C for 40 minutes to 4 hours; performing a second carbonization at 1400-2500deg.C for 20 minutes to 4 hours.
