Friction lining of main part and raised run-in part extends raised part along main surface either concaved or convexed to form raised part of maximum height along average main part radius.
Friction lining of main part and raised run-in part extends raised part along main surface either concaved or convexed to form raised part of maximum height along average main part radius.
The raised part (5) extends uninterrupted along the main part of the outside circumference of the main friction surface (4). The raised part can be produced by spherically concaving the main surface (4) to give a pointed friction section. Otherwise the main surface (4) can be convexed to form a raised part for the running-in period, the raised part in this case being of maximum height over the average radius of the main surface (4). Main surface and at least part of the raised part (5) are covered in Green coating and the lining is for disk brakes and clutches. Production starts from an interposed underlayer on a bearer plate and the friction material is then pressed concave right round the lining to give a burr edge. The concave depression is then filled with Green coating to level off with the burred edge.
