The book stand which allows reading when lying down comprises a glass plate on which the book (30) is placed with the text facing downwards and which is supported over the bed on an arm, as described in DE10013575. The novelty is that the plate is mounted on side arms (12, 14) and there are two main arms (10), one attached to each of the side arms.
