Application of a label (8) with bonding layer on the underside (10) comprising both a contact adhesive portion and a post-curable material portion, involves: (A) application of the label to an object (1) surface and immediately adheres through contact adhesive to form a semi-positive bond; and (B) a post cure treatment which fully cross-links the curable material in the bonding layer to form a permanent bond between label and object.
