A calculator (12) analyzes a design article using the design variables to calculate the performance values. A determinator (14) determines a specific design variable based on the calculated performance values. A determinator (16) determines an end time of analysis of the calculator, so that a specified relation is satisfied for calculation of the performance values and the end time of analysis. An Independent claim is also included for design variable optimization method.
