An intermediate variable determined from the book and market values of each balance sheet object, is tested automatically to determine whether it satisfies preset conditions. Predetermined actions are performed automatically depending on the manner and degree to which the preset conditions are satisfied. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) computer system for automatically evaluating asset value changes; and (2) computer program for automatically evaluating asset value changes.
